Duterte, Roxas and the Philippine elections

One can really feel the election is coming in tons of ways. Few of these are very evident already as we can see on televisions, radio, newspapers and social media. One is the stupid faces of the candidates on annoying political ads as shown by television station giants Abs-Cbn, GMA and TV5. As if we don't see their faces on tarpaulins along the roads, canned goods you eat and even the things we use such as bags and shirts.

And there's this name-calling thing as if smart people voters fall for it. Seriously, candidates? Is that how dirty you are? Let's take this Rodrigo Duterte Mar Roxas word war.

Message to Digong and Roxas
Now, honestly I wasn't really able to follow this word war between Digong and Mr. Palengke so I don't really have any idea how it started. I only had the chance to know this word war when Mr. Palengke accused Davao mayor's claimed that Davao's safety was a myth.

Digong retaliates by accusing Roxas' educational attainment saying he was not really a graduate.

I mean,Mr. Roxas seriously? Are you really that desperate for approval that you dare question Mr. Duterte's reign when you yourself awarded Digong of exemplary governance? Really? How trustworthy can you now be?

Now as for Mr. Duterte, it would be tough enough for him to convince the people to vote for him since he himself exposed his dark side, foul-mouthed womanizer as he claimed to be. I do not question his ability to lead however we have to think. Now I'm not defending Mr. Gab Valenciano but I understand the others' concern. When you're elected president, what kind of influence to the public will you be?

Duterte vs. Roxas: a reflection of the country's poor state of election

This Duterte vs. Roxas word war is not really extraordinary. In fact, we've seen this before. Candidates throwing accusations against a candidate, denies them and retaliates by throwing another accusation to his accusers and vice versa.

Seriously?

Now I don't intend to destroy a candidate's reputation, after all the Filipino people do not have to that they destroy themselves. They expose their own weaknesses. The only job left for Filipinos, is to vote wisely. And I appeal to my co-voters, please vote according to your conscience, not according to your needs, if you know what I mean.
